Who can join

Membership across career stages.

ISS/SIC welcomes medical doctors, eligible non-medical scientists and medical students whose work or studies are connected with surgery, anaesthesiology, critical care, research or education.

Medical doctors

Professionals working in recognized fields of surgery, anaesthesiology and related clinical disciplines.

Scientists and educators

Eligible non-medical scientists with relevant academic training and professional activity in surgery, life science, research or education.

Medical students

Students in active study at a School of Medicine may join under the applicable student membership category.

Annual dues

Membership adjusted to country income level.

Current public ISS/SIC dues include reduced fees for younger members and medical students. Final eligibility and the applicable category are confirmed through the membership process.
